Job Description: Accounting Assistant

Position: Accounting Assistant

Job Objective:
Provide support to the accounting department by recording, monitoring, and analyzing the company's accounting and financial transactions, ensuring compliance with internal policies and applicable tax regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Record accounting journal entries for income, expenses, and general ledger transactions.
• Enter and verify invoices, receipts, and tax-related documents.
• Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements.
• Prepare documentation for internal and external audits.
• Organize and maintain up-to-date accounting and tax records.
• Assist in the preparation and filing of tax returns.
• Comply with the company's established policies and procedures.

Education:

• Technical degree or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Experience:

• 1–2 years of experience in a similar position (preferred).

Knowledge:

• General accounting principles.
• Basic tax regulations.
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks or similar).

Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records.
• Safeguard financial documentation.
• Meet reporting deadlines and complete assigned tasks on time.

Work Schedule:

• Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Reports To:

• General Accountant, Accounting Manager, or Finance Manager.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

• Accuracy of accounting records.
• Timely completion of accounting closing activities.
• Timely submission of reports.
• Timely and accurate compliance with tax obligations.
